One Heart
Walking in two worlds, a universe apart
Two people, two faces, one life, one heart
Handling responsibilities trying to fit in
Working hard, starting over, having to begin again
One face is serious, one is carefree
Both I like, both I hate, which will I be?
Doing the right thing — what is expected to be done
People have to remember, I am only one
One trying hard, filling the shoes of two
So many expectations, to my own self I must be true.
My self who is carefree, must be put aside
My self who is serious, in those shoes I stride
Yet every so often, I wander off the narrow road
Leave behind my responsibilities, don’t do as I’m told
But the life I lead, can not be so care free
Handling responsibilities I must be true to me.
