Spider’s Web
(for a friend)
Many people, many places, some I’ve been before.
Life and love and liberty, for us, for me, for you.
Friends and love breed strage things.
Anger, jealousy, and even a wedding ring.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, they say.
Behold me, and tell me if you like what you see.
Tell me, what you like in other women, too,
but don’t compare us. We’re different.
I am me, and she’s the other woman.
I love you.
I need you.
A love so true it can only be broke by you.
Now, it’s held together
by a weak thread…
weaker than
a spider’s web.
