Someone is killing off unsuspecting Runners. Aralin, the Wind King, is dead, his Queen missing, and his heir yet unborn. Kappan, the Fire King, fears for his family line. An alliance between Wind and Fire is forged, but will the bond of milk-brothers be enough to save two races of Runners?

This story was “published” here in a rather raw form because someone kept asking for it.  There are some notes in the text, and some of the text repeats itself.  Also there is one section in the middle marked “unfinished”.   If you do not care for these types of interruptions then maybe this is not the story for you.
